Cultural Kayak Tours Djarlgarro- Gabeeyanba / Canning River Wetlands

• Most importantly we want every one of you to simply enjoy the amazing scenery of the Perth Waters. Perth truly is a special place to visit on water.  

The Cultural Kayak Tour offers healthy, active, and easy paddling along the way showcase Noongar culture and history. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect to paddle along the pristine waters of Canning River Wetlands for a couple of hours. During our paddle we will often ‘raft up’, joining kayaks where Joe will share stories about the ecology, past and Noongar culture. So you don’t have to worry, even in a larger group, you won’t miss a thing.

The tour starts at and finishes at Kent Street Weir, where there will be a moment to yarn at the end if desired. Included in the tour are the kayaks, paddles and life jackets. No previous rowing experience is necessary as a brief explanation will be given in the beginning and support is offered throughout the tour. It is important you feel comfortable being on water (5-10 metres from shore). Otherwise, there are other land based tours we offer. Please check out website www.djoona.com.au

WHAT TO BRING

- Sunglasses: Perth skies are bright and can get very glary on your eyes as you are kayaking along the waterways 

- Sunscreen and hat: We would not like you to get sunburnt 

- Shoes: Not essential 

- Shorts and Tops: Bring some comfortable shorts and tops, and we encourage you to bring change of clothing and towel

- Water bottle: Bring a large water bottle as kayaking is active
