Noongar Language Training
Djoona is pleased to offer traditional Aboriginal language training from the Perth metropolitan region: an introduction to Noongar orthography, consonants including nouns, vowels, pronouns, colors, numbers, plants, birds, trees and animals.
Prior to the English language entering Australia, the continent possessed over 250 languages. Today, many have become extinct, and few are considered either endangered or critically endangered.
We encourage everyone to participant and learn, rekindle and revive our ancestral language in everyday life. With some knowledge of the Aboriginal language, you will be able to build your understanding to geography locations, place names, and sites of significance. We will learn greetings, farewells, and acknowledgement of country.
Language lessons are specifically designed for the workplace and are suitable for all ages (max. 20 participants per training course).
